Obscene Material on the Internet - Adults

"Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." - 1 Peter 5:8

Internet porn is a seductive demon, consistently on the prowl to lure people in its grasp…and its grasp is deadly. Let me suggest a few things you can do to protect your family from the dangers of this filthy form of seduction.

  1. First, decide to stay away from it. Don’t even flirt with it, because it is a super powerful magnet for all men.
  2. Second, keep your computer in an open area. Nothing welcomes an enemy invading the home better than a closed-door area for the computer. Keep your computer in an open area where anybody walking by can see the screen.
  3. Thirdly, be sure to use a filter service, and even then, there is no foolproof method. The pornographers are experts at introducing between 100 and 200 new porn sites a day! And by using generic terms in the web address, such as “whitehouse,” a child doing a school project can easily stumble upon an internet pornography site. Pornographers are not content with just those who are looking to find them - they are constantly trying to capture innocent surfers who stumble upon their sites. Filters are a tool in the battle to help keep them out of your life.
  4. Finally, it’s also important that personal information is not given out to strangers. It used to be we taught our children to not get in the car and ride with a stranger. Well, there is a stranger invading the home through Internet pornography, often with terrible and wicked motives when it comes to our child’s life and mind. Teach your kids to not give out personal information on the web. It’s like getting in the car of a stranger who is the devil. Protect your web address, family details and names of your children just as you would guard your social security number and bank access codes.
This is fighting the good fight for ourselves and our families.
