Surprise! May 20 2009
"Behold, a day is coming for the Lord when the spoil taken from you will be divided among you. 'For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be captured, and the houses plundered, and the women ravished, and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city.'" - Zechariah 14:1
What is Zechariah talking about in today’s scripture? Armageddon. (Revelation 16:13-16) It’s very clear that the antichrist will gather his military might from the nations all around the world to destroy this so-called trouble maker nation of Israel once and for all! Why? Because that is always the spirit of the devil and the antichrist – to eliminate the people God loves. And at that point, the Jewish people, a small nation surrounded by military might, know they cannot stand up to all of this. They will know that unless God intervenes supernaturally, they will be doomed. And they will cry out to God to send them the Messiah, who will save them from this evil one. And God does! The Bible describes Him, “And on His robe and on His thigh, He has a name written, ‘King of Kings and Lord of Lords.’” (Revelation 19:16)
Now here’s the scene: when God answers the prayers of the Jewish people, to their shock, that Messiah is Jesus! And at that point, they will cry out to God for mercy, for forgiveness. They will cry out to God to forgive them for being stubborn and hard-hearted, and rejecting the gift of salvation through His Son. And God will answer that prayer.
Romans 11:25-27 says of that day, “I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: ‘The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins.’"
Let us remember that God has not given up on Israel. He still has great plans for them that will culminate in the coming of the Messiah – Jesus.

Yes, report it NevermindYes FATHER has not given up on Israel for HE says in Malachi "I AM YAHWEH, I CHANGE NOT THEREFORE YOU SONS OF JACOB ARE NOT CONSUMED."
Notice HE says sons (plural) for Jacob had 12 sons. So just who is Israel. The Jew from Juda is just 1 son - but there are 12 sons of Jacob. Where are the other 11???

Yes, report it NevermindEveryone in the world!
While some people hold the belief there was a worldwide flood, flood geology itself has been unequivocally rejected by mainstream geologists, biologists, and historians, all of whom consider it pseudoscience. Though at one time even prominent workers in biblical archaeology were willing to argue support for flood geology, this view is no longer widely held. The Roman Catholic Church has rejected this flood nonsense because they know they can't make a reasonable argument for it.

Yes, report it NevermindI'm not sure I'd call the Bible a "lie" per se, but I think it is full of ancient legends and stories, passed down throughout the ages, that have been altered so many times that no one really knows what was written down originally. Nor does it really matter since this was one of man's first attempts to explain his surroundings and more satisfactory answers have emerged since then. More over, it's original intended purpose may not have been what it is used for today. Books have been taken out, added in, ...it's all a mystery.
But I don't think anyone was LYING deliberately. If anyone is lying, it's the people today interpreting this book, not the original authors.
But I don't think there was a worldwide flood. And I don't think Noah put animals on a boat. And no, I don't think that Noah even existed. It's just legend and old Jewish stories without validity.

Just because you can take a position, and point to a web site that backs up that position, it doesn't mean that what you are arguing is true. I spent many long hours talking to geologists in the past, and all have told me - no evidence for flood, at least not a world-wide one. Many parts of the world have been ABOVE water for many millions of years. And that is a scientific FACT which discredits the Book of Genesis. (Which we all know isn't true anyhow).

Yes, report it NevermindJCO has expressed his opinion and anyone wanting to see the other view just check out the website I mentioned above that has plenty of scientific evidence for the flood. JCO we know your opinion and that you feel the bible is untrue,so lets just move on now to today's devotion topic. By the way still praying for you. God bless

Yes, report it NevermindI LOVE this scripture reading and interpretation from Bryant about what will happen in the end times. I wish Bryant would do this more often - give us a scripture reading about what will happen in the end times, and then give his interpretation of the scripture.

Yes, report it NevermindChrist Follower, Thanks for posting that website. It has some very interesting imformation which could be very helpful to me. As I have said many times when I come down to the end of my life I will not regret my belief in God even if it turns out that he is not real (which will not happen) but some who does not believe will regret that they did not believe.
God bless everyone and have a good day.

No there is does not.
It doesn't matter. There was no flood and no ark. It's just a goofy legend that isn't true, obviously.
