Birth Announcement Dec 15 2009
"...you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins." - Matthew 1:21
One type of letter we often get in our household is a birth announcement--someone announcing the birth of a child---a wonderful time of celebration and excitement. But when Jesus Christ was born, the ultimate birth announcement came straight from heaven when God, through His angels, said, "Today in the city of David has been born for you a savior who is Christ the Lord."
You may ask, "Why do I need a Savior?"
God's Word is clear that we need a Savior because all of us sin, and in the process, find ourselves separated from God. If we die separated, that means hell...and that's bad news. But Christmas is about good news, because Christ came to pay the penalty for our sins so that we could be forgiven and made right with God. For those who believe, He saves us from sin and, ultimately, hell...and that's pretty important.
As you rush around getting ready for Christmas, remember why He came and believe it. That's the key to having a Merry Christmas.

Yes, report it NevermindJust wanted to say that I love this years "winter photo" in the banner. Reminds me first thing everyday to pray for my grandchildren, who I only get to see a few times a year.

Yes, report it NevermindIn my human mind it is still hard to comprehend how God decided to take on the form of human flesh and come and dwell among his creation, and then die for that creation, but I am glad that he did. Then to try to understand how on the third day he raised himself up from the dead and appeared before over 500 people, and then let the people watch him as he ascended up into the clouds with a promise that he would one day come again to receive us and then take us back to the place where he has been preparing us a home for over 2000 years, but I sure am glad he did. As I look around at the things that are happening in the world today it sure makes me homesick for that future home in Heaven. God bless everyone today. And Grant I agree with you on your comment, the sad thing is one of my grandchildren lives close to me and we don't get to see her very often either. Bless you Brother.
