Forgive When You're Rejected For Your Faith Jan 28 2010
"Blessed are you when men hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man." - Luke 6:22
Have you ever felt rejected because of your faith? Has anyone ever avoided you, left you out of the clique, or even rejected you outright just because you are a Christian? No, that's not paranoia; this happens to every dedicated Christian at one time or another. Jesus wants you to know that when you are rejected by others or shown hostility for your beliefs, you are not the one being rejected. People are hostile at Jesus, not you. They are rejecting Jesus, not you. Never forget that.
And that is where we need to follow the example of Jesus most of all. When you are rejected due to your devotion to Christ, you need to respond just as Jesus did when He was rejected on the cross. He said, "Father, forgive them. They don't know what they're doing."
In your devotion to Christ, if you are rejected, face hostility, or even persecuted, you need to forgive as Christ forgave on the cross. Because if you want to see something that is unique about Christianity over every other religion, you look at Jesus in His Spirit on that cross, of forgiving those who have rejected Him. Are you willing to follow Jesus when it means these kinds of costs? Are you really?

Yes, report it NevermindMy parents were from 2 different religions my dad was Russian Jew and my mom was half German and English. My dad was prepared to follow my mom’s faith however his family could never accept it. I can remember how I was ridiculed as a child because of my Surname, my mom taught me and my siblings not to take notice of children/people who ridiculed us she told us to carry on believing what we were. As a grown up it never worried me what anyone had to say because I was brought up in a Christian home. My husband is Christian his family idolized the ground I walked on and never once rejected me because my dad was Jewish they accepted me not for what I am but for who I am. I believe one shouldn’t worry what other’s think of you as long as you respect everyone’s religion after all we all different.

Yes, report it NevermindFollowing Jesus means sacrificing my own natural inclinations and going the better way which is His way, the way of forgiveness. I can only do this with Him at work in me, showing me His example and helping me to get beyond myself to His higher level. I pray I can always do my best to follow Jesus in every circumstance. I expect the way the world is that we will be tested more and more in this.

Yes, report it NevermindNo, I like to think I am willing but when it comes to those sittuations I usualy fail or at least stumble. It is God who will have to do it for me and when I keep my heart trained on Him amd His word in those moments I am comforted. Still working on getting my mind, and all that is in my nature to do from tryig to control instead of trusting. Thank you for your devotions and God bless you all and thank you for your encouragement.
