"...by what a man is overcome, by this he is enslaved." - 2 Peter 2:19
When I read the story in the New York Times, I couldn't believe it--a blind receiver in football?
He played for Wofford College during the 2002 season. He said he ran his patterns carefully and looked for a dark fuzzy spot coming towards him. Talk about overcoming adversity--this is amazing!
In an age of self-indulgence and a victimized mindset, this player stands out as an example of hard work and perseverance. He has accepted and overcome his adversity, and is using it as a motivation rather than an excuse. By doing so, this young man challenges each of us not to be defeated by our limitations.
Wouldn't all of our lives be more fulfilled and effective if we followed his example? It can happen in each life with God's help. With God as our strength, we won't see ourselves as victims but as overcomers. Jesus Christ says, "In this world you'll have problems, but take heart. I have overcome the world."

The principal says "The number one predictor of student success is the student's belief that the teacher believes in the student's potential for success."

Yes, report it NevermindTo be a victim requires nothing from us---what has happened has happened. To be an overcomer requires herculean effort to jump over the obstacle that got in the way of life as it was known or could have been. All things are possible with God and His strength is made perfect in weakness. God is the ultimate overcomer. All glory be to God, the enabler, who can make good come out of evil.
