The Internet Nov 18 2007
"everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." - Matthew 5:28
In the sense of providing accessible knowledge for all mankind, the Internet has certainly been heralded as one of the greatest tools that has come about since the Guttenberg printing press. Certainly, it is a tremendous tool for doing business and research. But have you thought about one of the problems we face because of the Internet? It is called pornography.
Think about the progression in the last few years; twenty or thirty years ago an adult male who wanted to view hardcore pornography would have to go into an adult theater or bookstore and risk the embarrassment of somebody seeing him. A few years later, video rentals and cable TV made access easier, with less risk of embarrassment. And now with the Internet, hardcore pornography has come into the privacy of the home.
Men and women, listen. Pornography eats away at the core of your intimacy with God and your marriage relationship. It is degrading to women and always harmful to our thoughts and attitudes. It creates an appetite that can never be satisfied. You need to take pro-active steps to avoid the temptations of pornography.

Yes, report it NevermindI can speak from personal experience on this.God gave me a gift which I did not cherish, as I should. My wonderful wife has left me because of my attraction to pornography. In addition, I have a void in my life where my 3 beautiful children were. I pray for God's grace and redemption. Please pray for me!

Yes, report it NevermindI can see where more women than men have a problem with pornography but it isn't in the same way. First, there are those who work in the industry. They have a problem working in a degrading career. Then there are those women whose husbands, boyfriends, fathers and step-fathers, bosses and co-workers have a problem with pornography that adversely affects their relationships. And then there would be those women who have a direct problem with consumption of pornography themselves. I do not know the statistics but I would guess every male with a problem with pornography affects at least two or three females. Wow! What a big problem for everyone. It takes a big solution for a big problem. Those who truly seek solutions will look to God who conquers darkness with light. My husband lost a well-paying position because of a problem with pornography so that makes me a woman with a problem with pornography. Pornography is like an oil slick on the beautiful ocean God made. God and time and people's efforts can clean up the mess. Thanks BW for being brave in addressing this problem. God bless you, Randy, for your effort in turning to God's help in your situation.

Yes, report it NevermindNice message. I think that pornography is degrading "mankind" and therefore degrading God's creation. It is much more than just degrading to women.

Yes, report it NevermindI think Glenda mis-understood the stat. More and more women are looking at pornography, but men still FAR exceed the number of women. Her point is still made though - our society is headed downhill, as all societies have been since the begining. Just look at the last 100 years. The most violent century in the history of mankind. Most of the violence coming from atheists like Hitler, Stalin, Pol-pot, and atheistic countries like China and North Korea.

Yes, report it NevermindI was recently at a Christian camp that talked about pornography and honestly i just think that its horrible that a lot of the people now involed are preachers or ministers at the church, and it kinda stinks that its all done in private and now ANYONE can do it. I also volunter at a community place and my heart goes out to all the homes that have been broken by this!
